Visitors

We welcome visitors to Bampton for our Whitsun day of dance and love to see the town busy and full of joy.

Day visitors please note that parking is often tricky in Bampton so if you are driving in for the day please be mindful of where you park, it’s not a big place, less than a mile from corner to corner, so look to the less crowded roads further from the centre.

Arrangements for overnight visitors are similar to years previous, and are below. Please, if you are staying, respect the rules and keep our wonderful facility in perfect condition. It’s your care in previous years that means we can offer this.

Please also make full use of our local businesses. Our three pubs all keep their ale in tiptop condition (ales are regularly tested by all the Bampton morris dancers) and will be well stocked for your refreshment. Our Co-Op supermarket is open 7am to 10pm. We have two cafes too and our regular and excellent Monday Fish and Chip van “The Codfather” will be here too.

For 2024 we also have a superb new French Bistro in the Fleur de Lys, occupying what was previously The Romany Inn.
